Our Manufacturing Process

Our Manufacturing Process

At Xemplare, every creation is a fusion of artistry and precision. From the spark of an idea to the final polish, our jewellery is crafted to the highest standards using both traditional techniques and modern innovation.

Design – Initial sketches are drafted by hand or digitally. Inspired concepts are carefully refined to achieve harmony, beauty, and wearability.

CAD Modelling – State-of-the-art 3D technology translates designs into precise digital blueprints. CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software is used to generate precise 3D models. Each model includes exact stone seat measurements, prong thickness, tolerances, and weight estimations.

Casting – Using the lost-wax process, molten precious metals are transformed into the jewellery’s core form.

For single or one-of-a-kind designs wax or resin models are 3D printed using high-resolution 3D printers. For production designs we make a rubber mould from the design master pattern. This allows us to inject wax into the rubber mould for multiple repeats of the same design.

The wax models are sprued and encased in investment plaster.

After burnout, molten precious metal (18k gold, platinum, or bespoke alloys) is cast under vacuum or centrifugal pressure.

Castings are cleaned, shot-blasted, and checked for porosity.

Assembly – Our goldsmiths meticulously construct each component with perfect alignment. Pre-finishing involves filing, emerying, and ultrasonic cleaning to prepare for setting. During the assembly process components are bright polished and then laser welded together, thus creating a perfect finish in what would otherwise be impossible to reach areas.

Stone Setting – Expert setters secure every gemstone by hand to maximise brilliance and security. Seats are cut with precision burs under microscope magnification. The gems are individually set using prong, bezel, pavé, or channel techniques. Pressure and angles are carefully managed to avoid any damage to the gems.

Finishing – Polished to perfection, every surface reflects our uncompromising standards of quality. All white gold and platinum products are rhodium plated to enhance the whiteness and reflective quality of the metal.

Important Note:

Making fine jewellery is at once engineering, science and an artform. To ensure the best possible outcome, at a the end of each and every process every item is inspected under microscope. We maintain the strictest standards and if at any point during the quality control process there is a component that is below the required standard it is either adjusted, or the piece will be remade.

This relentless pursuit of perfection has taken generations to develop and is everything the Xemplare brand is built upon.

The Result - Timeless jewellery, created to be treasured for generations.
